This small basket is called kupit or kopit. It has a detachable lid that covers its compartment. Two rattan loops are attached on the side of its lid and another two on the base of the body.

RESEARCH DATA:

This woven rattan shoulder bag is also called kalupit (Jenks, 1905), commonly used by men (Capistrano-Baker et al., 1998) from Bontoc, Mountain Province. It varies in shape and size. Kupit such as this has only one compartment; however, many variations of it have more compartments and are used to store food, like cooked rice, and other personal belongings like lime, smoke pipes, tobacco, etc.
