RESEARCH DATA:

Commonly known as inacho, inadu, or inaju among the Ifugao people, ladles also bear names such as faniw (Bontoc), fianiw (Barlig), and aklu (Kankana-ey). As highlighted by Anderson (2010), figurative ladles played a crucial role in Ifugao culture, serving purposes in both daily activities and rituals.

The highlighted inadu from the collection features an elongated anthropomorphic figurine handle. Its substantial size suggests that this ladle was employed as a food or rice mixer during the process of food preparation.
