RESEARCH DATA:

Figurative ladles were an essential component of Ifugao culture, utilized for both daily use and ritual (Anderson, 2010). Commonly referred to as inacho/inadu/inaju by the Ifugao, ladles are also known as faniw (Bontoc), fianiw (Barlig), and aklu (Kankana-ey). This particular inadu from the collection was used as a food mixer or as a utensil to scoop the cooked rice from its container.
