RESEARCH DATA:

The duyu serves as the prevalent food server in the Cordillera region. Its size is dictated by the dimensions of the wood from which it is carved, ranging from small to large. Found commonly in Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Nueva Vizcaya, as documented by Anderson in 2010, the duyu stands as one of the utilitarian objects from the Cordillera, frequently integrated into ritual activities.

Although duyu is occasionally incorporated into ritual activities, such as serving as wine containers per Ellis in 2009, its primary and ordinary function remains that of a food server.
